This is where indie pop musician Brave the River gets personal about his life as a starving musician, his life-long pursuits to find the perfect burrito, stories that embarrass him, and what makes him tick. His name is Jonathan, and he does't like talking in the third-person... so he won't anymore.
“You held me like a river:
So bold, so strong, and untrue.
You were singing of blood in the Nile.
I was singing them Mississippi blues!”

“Too Hard A Love, Too Strong A Fighter” is the first single off of my forthcoming double-album “Strange Currents” due out on July 31, 2012. It’s an indie rock tune written, performed, and produced by yours truly. Mastered by Ronnie Martin.
Lyric from the tune “Strange Currents” from the forthcoming double album of the same name. Stay tuned to www.facebook.com/bravetheriver for new music!

The cover is by Conrad Roset (www.conradroset.com). He is based in Barcelona, Spain and his work has been featured in many prestigious publications. He has done work for Addidas, Coca-Cola, among others.
I recently spoke with Mike Love. We had a good night out on the town, then he pretty much dropped a bomb in the conversation. He said that the Beach Boys only wore matching striped shirts when they wished to be commercially viable. They wore stripes, they got a hit, he said. I mean, look at the cover of Pet Sounds. No stripes, not much of a hit. Maybe the best record ever, but without the stripes… sales were doomed. I never knew.
Me and Donovan (the guy who wrote “Mellow Yellow, yea) want to be “Hurdy Gurdy” men… so who is going to get poor me one of these? I hear they’re a real steel at a couple thousand bucks (mhmm). Oh dear, my fondness for new instruments. I’ll make a bet: Get me one, and I’ll have that man’s exact expression for the rest of my life. Promise.
Oh Rumi, not really a sexy beard. But here’s a good verse!

“In a boat down a fast-running creek,
it feels like trees on the bank
are rushing by. What seems
to be changing around us
is rather the speed of our craft
leaving this world.”
